Jalapeno Lime Kettle Sour & Patio Nights Sangria Hibiscus Tart Ale

(THE DOUBLE DOWN)

“Doubling down is one of the most thrilling moves in Blackjack. It allows you to double your bet in the middle of a hand in exchange for one extra card. It’s a risky gamble. This can lead to more timid players avoiding the double bet, and more adventurous players making it far too often. It’s important to try and strike a balance between sensible safe play and risky double downs in order to maximize your potential.”

So why the heck would we double-down in the year of 52 beers? Well we aren’t exactly timid at Sawdust City and we’re into the adventure, after all, 52 beers just isn’t enough for us … I guess. So this week, we bring you not one, but two, new releases.

Available in store and online Thursday, June 13th.

Jalapeño Lime Kettle-Sour

Jalapeno Lime Kettle-Sour offers aromas of bright lime and citrus that leap up at you from the glass. A tart first sip hits you with citrus zest, while the jalapeno adds a subtle zing on the end, reminiscent of fresh green pepper rather than heat. The lively carbonation makes this a very refreshing summer beverage.

Sam’s Take

Patio Nights started because we wanted to have a little fun with some of our older brands, while at the same time trying out some fun drink mixes. I’d been given a sample of the hibiscus tea and I thought it tasted great, so we tried it with a few different beers to see how it did. We really enjoyed it with Princess but thought it could use a bit of body and a touch of tartness. So we pulled in some Coriolis and low and behold we had a tasty drink!

As for Jalapeño LimeI absolutely love the flavour of jalapeno peppers. Y’all have seen me sweat from eatin’ spicy food, so I wanted that flavour without the overpowering heat. So we roasted the jalapenos and then steeped them in water to extract the flavour without carrying over the heat. As for the lime, I just thought that it brought bright summer vibes and the pairing of lime and jalapeno is a classic.
