In Response

Yesterday, a group photo was shared by the Ontario Craft Brewers Association that included Niagara MPP Sam Oosterhoff, as well as former Sawdust City COO Rick Dalmazzi.

First and foremost, we want to express our support for our female and LGBTQ staff and customers, and clarify that our beliefs in no way align with those stated by Oosterhoff. Rick is no longer an active employee of our brewery, and we were unaware of his presence at the roundtable. As a company operating in Ontario, particularly where alcohol distribution is concerned, the government does intersect with our business. However, our primary focus is, as always, to make the best beer we can, and create a work and visitor environment that is inclusive and welcoming to all. We are appalled that our brand was associated with values we do not share. We are actively addressing these serious concerns with the OCB. We want to thank everyone who has shared honest feedback, and we promise to continue to strive to earn your support.

With gratitude,
The Sawdust City Team

With questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact us at Sawdust City Brewing Company. Our owner and President Rob Engman would be happy to discuss further.
