Using a traditional German-style wheat beer as the base, we hopped this ale aggressively with new world hops. Aromatic and slightly drier than a typical weissbier, this relatively new hybrid style brings you the best of the old world transitions with a new world twist. The esters and hops play deliciously well together and the end results beg to be sampled. Hop into the Hase today!

After we brewed Furst we wanted to experiment more with this particular strain of yeast. We really loved the overt banana esters and thought they’d play really well with hops offering orange citrus, tropical flavours. We chose to use Amarillo, Cashmere and Citra hops, and we only moderately hopped the beer in the boil, but then threw a lot at the beer during the dry- hop. We really like the results as you still get the underlying weissbier yeast esters but the hops are upfront with tropical melon and citrus flavours really shining through.
