Boa Vida Pineapple Lactose IPA

This hazy, hop-forward IPA takes the softer side of hops up a level with the creamy touch of lactose sugar and a ton of pineapple puree. Spelt and a touch of oat flakes soften and smooth the mouthfeel bringing you a super creamy hoppy IPA full of pineapple goodness!

Sam’s Take

Wanting to end the year off in a big way, we went back to a style we saw success with in the past. Using a malt base similar to the strawberry milkshake, but with a few upgrades, we built the recipe for this lactose sugar-infused IPA. Employing the very scientific “pulling a fruit out of a hat” method, we landed on pineapple as our fruit and from there worked with hop varieties we felt would complement the tropical elements of the pineapple. Sabro, Galaxy & Mosaic are all big hops that bring big, pungent, tropical citrus notes of their own. Creamy, juicy and with a pillowy soft body, Boa Vida is the ‘good life in a glass’!
